One day this week I was walking through some gardens at lunchtime. The sun was bright and it was warm and suddenly I spotted a woman walking with her friend. What struck me was the way this young woman was walking. Her walk was what I would describe as ‘True Beauty’.
Beauty’s Walk
There was a lightness and bounce in her steps. She wore a green pencil skirt with white polka dots and she was REALLY strutting her stuff in an unassuming way – and to watch her hips gently move from side to side brought a smile to my face! This inspired me to remove my long coat as I suddenly became aware that I was too hot with it on, and that actually I was using it to hide my own body. And I began enjoying my own walk; allowing my hips to move from side to side and enjoying the graceful extension down the back of my legs as I walked.
Inspiration and Mutual Appreciation
I couldn’t help but tell this woman how I truly enjoyed seeing her walk and that she had inspired me so! As we laughed together, she also complimented me on the bright pink top I was wearing, and I carried on smiling, continuing on my way. And as I walked, I felt a deeper glow inside me, noting this was both on the inside and the outside; that I was feeling even more beautiful
- From expressing and sharing my joy for another woman’s beauty
- Due to the freedom of not hiding my body and enjoying the movements as I walked
- Feeling and enjoying the full glow of the sun beaming on my face!
True Beauty for me is just this
- ‘Aliveness’ from inside my body (and not an excitement)
- Scintillating sparkling energy that radiates throughout my body
- When connected to this beauty, it ‘informs’ how I choose to dress
- How I will speak with another
- What I choose to see in the world
- How I walk, eat, smile, think and wash myself in the shower.
The Expression of Beauty
When I express from this place my whole world changes and it has nothing to do with how ‘something’ or another looks, but certainly has everything to do with how I feel on the inside.
True Beauty never asks anything of you but instead to share yourself with the world in all of your splendour and JOY. True Beauty asks us to be real. And to express how we are truly feeling; and this true beauty is something I have come to experience living inside every man and woman when they do not hide who they are.
With this I can only smile…
